2013 Range Rover, more minutia pictures via Autocar #NewRangeRover

Autocar put up a great article today.  Not much new info but a lot of new pictures.

Here we see the refrigerated section in the front center armrest.  The switch in the middle of the image is used to turn it on and off.  It looks very shallow in this picture.  I’d much rather have storage over refrigeration, but I guess the new door cubby’s help with that too.  Also, we can see that the USB and AUX jacks remain in the center.

The thing to notice here is the red glow coming from below the center console, that’s the Ambient Lighting feature in action

This image shows how important the small details are to Gerry McGovern and his team.

Another “small detail”, more of a gimmick this time, is the Range Rover logo that is display from the side-view mirrors at night; similar to what the Evoque does.

2013 Range Rover, Images from Russia #NewRangeRover

Slava from Moscow was kind enough to let me post the pictures he put up on the RangeRovers.net board.  Great shots showing the little things we haven’t seen before.

2013 Range Rover, US Pricing, starting at $83,500, Autobiography $130,950 #NewRangeRover

Land Rover had their US reveal party for the All-New 2013 Range Rover tonight in New Jersey and announced the US pricing afterward.  I was worried the Autobiography would really jump but it only increased about $4000 over the 2012 model.  I just wish they included the 1700 Watt Meridian system with it…  Either way, I’m starting to get slightly disenchanted, I’m sure it was a great party.

Here’s the PR:

2013 Range Rover, Interesting back seat bits #NewRangeRover

Just a few little bits found in some of the back seat pictures.

The center rear seatbelt now slides into its own space, I wonder if this has anything to do with the motorized folding rear seats now?

l405-rearcentersb

A vent has appeared at the seat level, I’m assuming this may have to with the the 4-zone system, but can’t confirm that yet.

l405-rearseatvent

And finally, another view, this time of the rear seat with the Executive Class Seating option, not only do we see that the rear seat controls have moved off the door and on to the side of the seat.  But higher up in the picture, an air vent has appeared on the roof.  Looks like it’s replaced the standard roof mounted handle, that still persists for the front passengers.  I wonder if there’s one mounted somewhere else that we can’t see.  It’s probably for the 4-zone system.

Another rood air vent shot:

Here’s a shot with rear grab handles and no vents:

And finally a shot of the simple rear seat recline controls:

And finally, the button that moves the front passenger seat forward for more leg room, has been moved to the side of the front passenger seat:

2013 Range Rover, Queen Mary funnels and 900mm of wading depth #NewRangeRover

From all we’re reading the new Range Rover doesn’t let us down in off-road capabilities, one of the surprises was the increase in wading depth over its predecessor, up 200mm to 900mm or almost 35 inches.

Back in the 2013 Range Rover media dark ages, I posted these pictures showing some interesting vents along the edges of the hood.  I had thought they may have had something to do with a functional yet decorative hood vent.

m1fyfbbbjxpnl405-r-ventl405-l-vent

l405-vent2

They are functional and were known as the “Queen Mary funnels”

As we learned from the PistonHeads.com:

Ingesting intake air via the gap between bonnet and wing permits this, circulating it within the clamshell bonnet before entering intake funnels dubbed ‘Queen Marys’ after their resemblance to ship funnels. The earlier QE2 nickname was dismissed when it was discovered only one of the ship’s funnels functioned, trivia fans!

And a few more shots from the cut away:
