Jaguar Land Rover Announces The First Wave Of Apps For Its New InControl™ Apps Platform
- Jaguar InControl™ Apps and Land Rover InControl™ Apps deliver integrated in-vehicle app connectivity for both Android and Apple smartphones
- System transfers the app interface from the phone to the in-car infotainment touchscreen, and is upgradeable as new apps become available
- InControl™ Apps available in new Jaguar and Land Rover models progressively from 2014
Jaguar Land Rover has announced the first wave of third party apps for its innovative new smartphone integration platform - InControl™ Apps – which has been developed in conjunction with BOSCH SoftTec.
Jaguar Land Rover has worked closely with leading third party app developers to enable an initial suite of Android and iOS compatible applications that will greatly enhance the in-vehicle user experience for customers.
The platform will allow access to apps including: iHeart Radio; Inrix; Stitcher; Glympse; Sygic; Parkopedia; Hotelseeker; Cityseeker; Airmotion News; Winston and Mobile Day.

Land Rover has today revealed an exclusive new documentary film charting the new Range Rover Sport’s challenge to complete the fastest recorded crossing of the Empty Quarter desert, which it achieved last month.
The video, which can be seen on Land Rover’s YouTube channel here, tracks the team’s 849km journey from Wadi Adda Wasir in Saudi Arabia to the border of the United Arab Emirates. The team completed the challenge on November 3rd 2013, finishing in 10 hours and 22 minutes at an average speed of 51.87 mph (81.87 km/h), and the documentary charts the journey from beginning to end.
- Agreement signed with the State of Rio de Janeiro to build a Jaguar Land Rover manufacturing facility
- Jaguar Land Rover will invest R$750m (£240m) in the programme
- Plant will have an annual production capacity of 24,000 vehicles
- Plant will initially employ 400 people, generating additional jobs in the supply chain
- First vehicles to come off the assembly line in 2016
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: Jaguar Land Rover is to become the first British carmaker to open a manufacturing facility in Brazil following a landmark agreement between the company and state authorities to build a plant in the State of Rio de Janeiro.

And for my last example below, you’ve got to love how they still have that – “Switch on by touching the climate off softkey”. Wouldn’t you think the button text could just toggle Climate On or Climate Off?
