This release includes a new application – ‘Activation of Smartphone Pack’. This application allows the activation of 3 smartphone integration technologies – Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Baidu CarLife.
Baidu CarLife is intended for the Chinese market only. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto availability will also depend on vehicle region.
The Smartphone Pack application is only compatible with InControl Touch Pro software version 18C or later. This application will prompt users to update the InControl Touch Pro software if required.

And as long as we’re here, the Land Rover USA website now lists the option, it only took a year.

InControl Touch Pro demo videos, still unavailable on Range Rover in 2016

Not sure why they all need the same 22-second pre-roll – they’re not TV shows, just one to six minute instructional videos. My only reasoning is that maybe it’s to make us think it’s a sitcom because of how funny it is that none of these features are still available on a real Range Rover in 2016.

Range Rover Evoque Convertible finally brings InControl Touch Pro to a Land Rover (might still be vaporware)

After years of waiting, the Range Rover Evoque Convertible is a really here for MY17. There are very few details that were new – they took the concept and updated it with the MY16 Evoque refresh plus a bit more: the addition of the 10.2” InControl Touch Pro system to a Land Rover is a welcome surprise. All pictures & official PR to follow below but really I only care about the vaporware aka InControl Touch Pro.

It looks like the Evoque isn’t also getting the 12.3” digital gauge display that Range Rover proper has had since 2010 (But done NOTHING interesting with anyway). And the do still love to call 3G state of the art for a MY2017 vehicle {eyeroll}

Countdown to Convertible begins as Range Rover Evoque Wireframes take over London

London UK, Friday 2^nd October – Londoners were stopped in their tracks today as Land Rover placed a collection of full-size Range Rover Evoque Convertible ‘wireframe’ sculptures in the iconic streets of the UK’s capital.

The installations were displayed outside prestigious London locations including the world famous Harrods department store on Brompton Road, Knightsbridge and in notable Mayfair addresses.

The bespoke sculptures were designed by Land Rover’s own Design team, using advanced computer modelling to accurately outline the shape of the forthcoming Evoque Convertible. Crafted from aluminium and finished in a range of vibrant colours, the wireframes illustrate the elegant evolution of the Range Rover Evoque’s transformation from coupe to convertible.

Following on from the original wireframes used to launch Evoque in 2011, the 1:1 scale works of art include 3D wheels as well as front and rear seats. Six Convertible wireframes have been produced to give the public a chance to see how the Evoque Convertible will look in its natural urban environment. Each wireframe will now begin a global tour as Land Rover builds up to the introduction in November of the latest addition to the growing Range Rover family.

Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Design Director and Chief Creative Officer, said: "The Range Rover Evoque Convertible is perfectly suited to the urban surroundings of a city like London and it’s the perfect place to showcase the world’s first luxury compact SUV convertible. The locations chosen reflect the refined and luxurious lifestyle of an Evoque Convertible customer – two attributes this vehicle delivers in abundance."
