Is the next Discovery being built in Slovakia in 2018? This JLR supplier thinks so…

The Slovakia plant was announced in December 2015, but I don’t believe we’ve read about what exactly will be built there.

Are all new L462 Discovery’s being built in Slovakia from 2018 – 2024?  This supplier seems to think so.

INTERNAL NEWS RELEASE: IMMEDIATE

6th June, 2016 – GSM Automotive Witney secures Land Rover Discovery new business award

Confirmation received in the past few weeks that GSM has been awarded the bright front and rear tread-plate business for the new Land Rover Discovery; program name L462. These bright tread-plates, which will be manufactured at our site in Witney, will be supplied to Grupo Antolin’s recently acquired facility in Hartlip where they will be assembled into moulding before onward supply to JLR manufacturing operation in Solihull until 2019. At the end of 2018 JLR production of the Discovery will then switch to Nitra in Slovakia where this vehicle will be produced until December, 2024.

For the team this represented a hard fought win and one secured in the face of fierce competition from mainland Europe. It is hoped that additional program nomination of variants for this vehicle will be announced in the coming weeks.

About GSM Automotive:

GSM Automotive is a world leader in the supply of Badges, Functional Film, Labels, Illuminated Scuff-plates; Tread-plates; Tail-gate Garnish, Pedal Kits and sub-assemblies; as well as genuine service parts. Bits of info on the L560, Range Rover "Coupe"

Nothing too concrete but I wanted to get things posted here for reference.

With the first real spy shots of the forthcoming "coupe", it was time again to do some Linkedin searches.  As we’ve seen before there are plenty of people posting about their connection to the 18MY L560 project.

Again just random bits from Linkedin:
