Crazy Sh*t

100 $244,500 Holland & Holland Range Rovers are coming to the US, get your $10k deposit in before Dec 2!

Thanks to the always resourceful members at rangerovers.net, here’s the NA marketing bulletin for the 2016 Holland & Holland Range Rover.  It’s like a SVAutobiography Autobiography (yes, double Autobiography)

Never thought we’d actually see this over here, can’t wait to see it in real life.

Possibly the best paragraph in the whole document:

If you do not provide shot gun size details at the time of order / Step 3 of the Order
Process, it will not be possible to provide customized gun case inserts matching your
customers specific shotguns. Customization will not be possible once the vehicle has left
the SVO build facility.

Countdown to Convertible begins as Range Rover Evoque Wireframes take over London

They’ve done this before but something about these latest ones I really like:

Official PR:

Range Rover Evoque Convertible Wireframes (18)

  • Wireframe sculptures preview world’s first luxury compact SUV convertible
  • Prestigious London locations including Harrods host unique models
  • Full-size installations are 1:1 scale representation of Evoque Convertible
  • World’s first compact luxury SUV Convertible to be revealed in November 2015

London UK, Friday 2nd October – Londoners were stopped in their tracks today as Land Rover placed a collection of full-size Range Rover Evoque Convertible ‘wireframe’ sculptures in the iconic streets of the UK’s capital.

The installations were displayed outside prestigious London locations including the world famous Harrods department store on Brompton Road, Knightsbridge and in notable Mayfair addresses.

Range Rover Evoque Convertible Wireframes (7)

The bespoke sculptures were designed by Land Rover’s own Design team, using advanced computer modelling to accurately outline the shape of the forthcoming Evoque Convertible. Crafted from aluminium and finished in a range of vibrant colours, the wireframes illustrate the elegant evolution of the Range Rover Evoque’s transformation from coupe to convertible.

Range Rover Evoque Convertible Wireframes (5)

Following on from the original wireframes used to launch Evoque in 2011, the 1:1 scale works of art include 3D wheels as well as front and rear seats. Six Convertible wireframes have been produced to give the public a chance to see how the Evoque Convertible will look in its natural urban environment. Each wireframe will now begin a global tour as Land Rover builds up to the introduction in November of the latest addition to the growing Range Rover family.

Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Design Director and Chief Creative Officer, said: "The Range Rover Evoque Convertible is perfectly suited to the urban surroundings of a city like London and it’s the perfect place to showcase the world’s first luxury compact SUV convertible. The locations chosen reflect the refined and luxurious lifestyle of an Evoque Convertible customer – two attributes this vehicle delivers in abundance."

Land Rover Defender Heritage Edition, best for last

One of the three Land Rover Defenders for the Year of Defender Celebration Series:

The Defender Heritage Edition is just too much fun for this Land Rover fanatic for what might be obvious reasons!

Heritage Edition

LR_DEF_LE_Heritage_070115_04

The Heritage Edition evokes the history of the Defender as a modern interpretation of the famous HUE 166 Land Rover – the first pre-production Series I vehicle, nicknamed ‘Huey’, which dates back to 1947. Traditionalists will appreciate the Grasmere Green metallic paintwork, Alaska White roof, heritage style grille, headlamp surrounds and heavy-duty steel wheels. Other nostalgic additions include the silver front bumper with black end caps while clear indicator lenses and Indus Silver door hinges also set the Heritage Edition apart. Body-coloured wheel arches and mudflaps bearing the Heritage logo also feature.

Externally, the finishing touch comes in the shape of aluminium heritage style badging to the front grille and rear bodywork, which is inspired by the designs fitted to the Series I and II models. Evocative HUE 166 graphics also adorn the front wing panels.

While the exterior pays homage to the earliest Land Rovers, the Heritage Edition features a host of modern creature comforts and luxurious finishes inside. They include perforated leather outer steering wheel rim and gear lever, Bright Aluminium trim for the air vents, door handles and door locks, and Almond Resolve Cloth seat facings bearing the heritage logo and detailed with HUE 166 tags.

Durable rubber floor mats and a padded cubby box between the front seats ensure the Heritage Edition is as functional as it is distinctive.
