At what point is is not worth making anything else?
The Guardian:
How Jaguar Land Rover fell behind in the race to an electric future – and what it means for the UK
JLR Spokesperson: “the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Defender – accounting for over 74% of our order book”
Why even bother with the other vehicles? Doesn’t this kind of tell the story? If Range Rover and Range Rover Sport are made at Solihull, wouldn’t it seem to reason that they could save a lot of money?
How much better would the Range Rover be if they didn’t waste time on the Evoque or Velar or Jaguar? All of that engineering talent working on just three models. Marketing three models. Manufacturing three models. Put all the extra resources into making people happier with their Land Rovers. Don’t give them a reason to complain. Turn the entire history around with those resources.
Become truly boutique.
