All-New 2020 Range Rover Evoque & its creepy faux-NYC photos, does it make us question authenticity?

What’s with the off-putting faux-New York City sets they took their location pics on?  Did they not actually film in NYC for secrecy reasons?  But then why not just make it a generic city?  Why show NYC Taxis and NYC addresses?  Further the fake taxis show advertisements for the fake stores.  Then there are the very distinct models who seem to all know each other from vignette to vignette but not always acknowledge it.  And okay, I know the last part is a stretch but looking at it, you can see how weird it is.

It’s like The Truman Show or like a Twilight Zone where alien’s have built a prison for humans.

This is not a place and something’s not right with those traffic lights.

Woah – a hipster barber (Holder the Barber) & two coffee shops (Two Two Seven & Nick’s Coffee House)– this must be NYC!

I wonder how the Taxi Rooftop Ads are working for Two Two Seven?  And coincidentally this taxi is parked in front of Nick’s Coffee House – how awkward!

The only authentic New York detail is that the two coffee places are right across the street from each other.  That would be true.

It’s so fake.  I wonder if the off-road pics are filmed in a sandbox?
